+++++
okay. i'm not AS upset now. we only spent a total of about 18 HOURS on
trains today fixing the screw up. we figured out that we didn't quite
get all the way to milan this morning. we were on the swiss-italian border,
in a town of ciasso. so we caught the slowest train on the planet northward
through switzerland, toward lucerne and basel. this was not all bad, becasue
i finally got to see what the alps look like. some of the little towns
we chugged through looked like what i expected switzerland to look like.
mostly today, though, i just slept on and off and thought about not going
to neuschwannstein, yesterday. i liked heidlburg and all, but i would
have rather seen the castle. it's a good thing i didn't go, given our
current circumstance, though.
the cool thing is that right now i'm on the eurostar, the train that connects
paris and london through the chunnel. it's pretty cool, but mostly just
dark. it was harrowing just to get to this point, but soon we'll be in
london, finally. 'martin guerre' is playing now in the west end, so we'll
probably go to that. other than that and westminster abbey, i'm just gonna
hang out. so for now, at 190 mph, somewhere under the english channel,
catch ya in the u.k. cheers.
ps..no more eurail!! buncha freaks!!
